We would like to congratulate the McAbee’s again on their amazing milestone of 75 years in business!
Here is a special word from Dennis McAbee, owner of McAbee’s Sew & Vac.
“It is with much appreciation and thankfulness that Karen and I would like to express much gratitude to one and all for their support and loyalty to McAbee’s of Elk City and the celebration of our 75th Anniversary.
In 1949 my Parents began a home-based business with just two sewing machines, then just a few years later opened their first store in Hobart.
At the age of 12, I worked in concert with my dad at the Carnegie County Fair showing sewing machines. I also traveled many a mile with my dad doing home demonstrations.
Karen and I feel blessed and proud to be working and living in Elk City. While many cities and towns have slowed up, Elk City has remained a very progressive city with new schools, park amenities, library, and other city improvements, our city is “Top Shelf”.
Our Police and Fire Department have consistently moved forward and continued to provide for and protect the citizens of Elk City.
We would also like to thank the Elk City Chamber of Commerce for the care and compassion in celebrating McAbee’s 75th Anniversary.
